そこに収録してある Robert Spiess の
６４の Speculations on Haiku
（ハイクへの考察）を何度も読んで
いるということである。

私がハール夫人も「直覚」という言葉を
使っていることを最近知ったと彼に告げ
たら Robert Spiess も使っていると
いうではないか。私も早速、その点
から調べたら取りあえず次ぎの考察
に出会った。

"They 'Feelingly Comprehend' (Intuit)"

When haiku poets become aware of the
coincidence of ceratin events in a now-
moment, they 'feelingly comprehend'
(intuit) that this is more than simply
chance; they deeply realize that in this
combination there is significance in the
interdependence of the entities not only
among themselves but also with their
(the poets') own inner subjective or
psychic states.

俳人たちが、今という瞬間、ある出来事に偶然、
出会うとき、これが単なる偶然以上のものだと
いうことを直覚で知るのである。

このような関連に於いて彼らは深く理解するので
ある。

存在と存在の相互依存の大切さがあるという
ことを。それらの間だけでなく、俳人たち自身の
内部の主観的な状態、あるいは精神的な状態で
存在と存在の相互依存が生まれるのである。
